The northern part of Lazio, called Tuscia and belonged to the province of Viterbo, is one of the most interesting and exciting in central Italy. Through the Cimini and Sabatini Hills (Monti Cimini e Monti Sabatini) for Bolsena and to the Tyrrhenian coast, the eye catches the landscapes of Tuscia with its picturesque villages and fascinating Etruscan necropolises and renaissances villas.
The Ulysse's coast deserves a special attention. It makes a part of the province of Latina, where the Circeo National Park stretches, the unique of its kind in Italy, and Pontine islands of volcanic origin in the center of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Roman Castles (Castelli Romani), with their beautiful landscapes, Renaissance palaces and white wine are the proud of Latium.
The next attraction of the region - the town of Tivoli with itsamazing villas, built in different eras in its territory: Hadrian's Villa, Villa d'Este and Villa Gregoriana.
No matter what you take during your stay in Lazio: to enjoy the warm sea or to visit museums, just to walk on the streets or to study the pictures in art galleries, bask at the swimming pool or explore the country manor ruins of ancient villas - you'll always feel the special atmosphere that is impregnated with the spirit of oldcenturies traditions.
One of them is a traditional cuisine, based on the typical products of the region. Due to local producers, who faithfully kept the secrets of their ancestors, the typical regional products made Lazio famous in the worldwide. Olive oil and wine DOC (Denominazione di origine controllata = name controlled by origin), cheeses, meats, fruits and vegetables, home-baked sweets attract gourmets from all corners of the earth and do not leave indifferent even the ascetics. We suggest to book one of our wine-gastronomic tours and to taste the specialties of Lazio on yours stomach.
